Wouldnt mind one with an italic nib. I have tried flushing it out, I have tried about 6 different inks - including Sailor's black in the cartridge with the pen, Noodler's black, Noodler's anti-feather, Noodler's Baystate Blue and a few more. So being that Sailor made this inexpensive pen write like a champ, I decided to purchase their 1911 with 14kt gold nib extra fine which I thought could only be better. So given all the right conditions this pen can write but I think you will find it frustrating to use.
I bought it from Comtachi Japan. Much much finer than my Lamy Safari and Lamy 2000 pens all with extra-fine nibs.
But having a desk pen is just not something I wanted to carry around with me - you can't post it and it has a small diameter barrel.
