The Plerogyra genus comes in branching varieties also. I backed off and only started feeding it once a week. Does anyone else feed their bubble coral? Nothing beats silversides in the morning! i agree that you really shouldnt used cooked shrimp...go to your lfs and see if they sell forzen krill in the frozen food area, this is much better and much more nutritious than cooked shrimp! I don't feed it that often though - 2-3 times a week? Eats everything I give it including pellet food.When I first got mine it wasn't so healthy so I fed it ALOT. Someone else said they wave the food in the coral till the tentacles come out. The 2 stalks are about 2 inches thick. That is pretty much what I do with my pearl. It is usually 2 bucks a pound...WAY cheaper than the LFS. Mine eats anything too. When it does this you can actually see the mouth. I don't think cooked shrimp is right. About anything meaty that is found in satwater is aceptable. Here is a picture, my clown was busy harrasing it that is why it looks so small. Someone else said they wave the food in the coral till the tentacles come out. This video is unavailable.
Here is my new baby bubble. The bubbles on these corals can have little tips on the end. Usually right before lights out it will morph it's bubbles into tentacle shapes. After awhile the shrimp is ingested into the mouth and I never see it again. I also add live phyto to the tank.I do not directly feed mine although I use dt's every other day and it get's lot's of scraps of formula one and two that fall into it. I only cut small pieces for my trumpits other than that I directly feed. most likely in the folds of all the bubbles in the middle.
